Guru Gobind Singh Ji was born on December 2, 1666, in Patna, Bihar.

He was the son of Mata Gujri and their ninth Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur.

Guru Gobind Singh was a man of great intellect and he modified Sikh law, wrote martial poetry and music, and was the author of the Sikh work called the ‘Dasam Granth’ (“Tenth Volume").

 He also compiled Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of Sikhism.

The establishment of the Khalsa in 1699 was Guru Gobind Singh's greatest achievement.

He presented the community with the five Ks: Kesh, Kara, Kanga, Kachera, and Kirpan.
