HAPPY VISHU 2023

Vishu is a cultural festival celebrated as the Hindu New Year in Kerala

It falls on the first day of Medam in Malayalam calendar.

This festival is celebrated for three days i.e on April 14th, 15th and 16th .

In Sanskrit, Vishu means equal which says in spring equinox , the day and night are equal.

It is the harvest festival which welcomes the spring season.

Before days, farmers used to start ploughing the land on  this day because they concludes this day as an auspicious day for Hindu Malayalis.

ORIGIN: Lord Sri Krishna killed Narakasura On this day.

Malayalis seek to view the golden blossoms of cloth, mirror, Kani Koona, money , coconut, silver items, fruits etc.

People wear new clothes(Men in white pancha and women in white saree) and they eat a feast called “Sadhya”.

They even start bursting fireworks with their family.
