PM Narendra Modi Inaugurates Bengaluru’s Largest Aerospace Engineering Facility of Boeing Outside the United States

On January 3, 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center (BIETC) in Bengaluru.

This state-of-the-art facility is the largest aerospace engineering center of Boeing outside the United States.

The city is home to several leading aerospace companies, research institutions, and educational institutions, making it an ideal location for Boeing’s largest aerospace engineering facility outside the United States.

During the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the importance of the aerospace sector in India’s economic growth and emphasized the government’s commitment to promoting indigenous manufacturing and innovation in the sector.

The BIETC will focus on advanced aerospace research, design, and engineering activities, including the development of new technologies and solutions for Boeing’s commercial and defense programs.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by top officials from Boeing and the Indian government, including Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Bengaluru, also known as the “Silicon Valley of India,” has emerged as a major hub for aerospace and defense industries.
