K.T. Rama Rao Slams Congress and BJP, Highlights TRS Achievements
In a recent address in Warangal, Telangana, IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) took a firm stand against Congress and BJP while highlighting the achievements of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government under Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). KTR criticized Congress leaders for their complaints about the state’s power supply situation, dismissing their concerns and drawing attention to the thin electricity wires, comparing them humorously to KCR’s physique. KTR asserted that although the power may not be visible, the TRS government has been providing 24-hour power supply to the people.
KTR addressed two public gatherings in Hanamkonda and Warangal, where he accused the Congress of betraying the people of Telangana in the past. KTR reminded the audience of the historical context, mentioning that the Congress had merged Telangana into Andhra Pradesh and later deceived the region with false promises. KTR cited the instance of 11 Telangana MPs, led by Marri Channa Reddy, joining the Congress with the promise of a separate Telangana state. These actions, according to KTR, were acts of betrayal that the people should remember.
KTR questioned the Congress’s request for another chance from the people, pointing out that they had already been given multiple opportunities to serve Telangana but failed to deliver on their promises. KTR also highlighted the fact that TRS leaders, including himself, had resigned from their posts during the separate Telangana movement, while G. Kishan Reddy, who is currently the state chief of the BJP, did not. This contrast, according to KTR, demonstrates the commitment of TRS leaders to the Telangana cause.
KTR did not spare the BJP either, criticizing Bandi Sanjay’s statement that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is like a god. KTR questioned why people should view the Prime Minister in such a manner, especially considering the rising prices of essential commodities such as gas cylinders, petrol, and diesel. KTR emphasized the need for leaders to take bold decisions for the welfare of the people, much like KCR, who has introduced revolutionary schemes and undertaken historic programs during his nine years in office.
In the run-up to the upcoming elections, KTR urged the people not to be swayed by the “false guarantees and promises” made by leaders of the BJP and Congress, likening their visits to the state to the appearance of Gangireddu during Sankranti. KTR assured the people that they would soon hear positive news about increased pensions and assistance for women and other sections of the population.
KTR’s statements reflect the TRS’s determination to defend its track record and assert its commitment to the welfare of the people of Telangana. The ongoing political rivalry between the TRS, Congress, and BJP continues to shape the political landscape in the state, and KTR’s speeches demonstrate the TRS’s readiness to engage in spirited debates and present its achievements to the electorate. The upcoming elections in Telangana are sure to be closely watched as these political parties vie for the trust and support of the people.
