136 INDIANS RESCUED FROM SUDAN UNDER OPERATION KAVERI
OPERATION KAVERI RESCUED 136 INDIAN NATIONS FROM SUDAN; HUNDREDS MORE ARE YET TO BE RESCUED
The Indian government gave the green signal to OPERATION KAVERI; Operation Kaveri is set up to bring Indian nations that are stuck in Sudan, home. Indians who were stuck in the war-torn country are now being evacuated from there.
Following the 72-hour standoff agreed to by Sudan’s army and their opponent parliamentary Rapid Support Force (RSF), nations such as India are willing to go the extra mile to bring back their citizens.
With Operation Kaveri, India has been sending combat aircraft, and warships to the area to bring back Indians. Colonel GS Grewal, India’s Defense Attache in Saudi Arabia, addressed the people being evacuated via Saudi Arabia from the unrest-torn Sudan and assured them that they will be reunited safely with their families in India.
A video of the rescued arriving in Saudi Arabia went viral; in the video, Colonel Grewal is seen guiding the people and asking them to cooperate with the officers and follow their guidelines. The Colonel can also be seen interacting with the rescued civilians and assuring them that they are safe.
His assuring words were “Trust me, from this moment onwards, all of you will reach your homes safely”. He added that it is their duty to ensure so.
In the video, we can see a sign of relief in the faces of the evacuated citizens and they are seen to be beyond thankful. We can see people thanking Colonel Grewal and also seen chanting “Vande Mataram” followed by “Indian Army Zindabad”.
They also expressed thanks to our honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi by chanting “PM Modi Zindabad”. They were holding their hearts in their hands in between bullets, bombs, and missiles while in that war-torn African country and the thought of coming back to their motherland gave them so much strength – can be seen when they chanted “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”.
Sudan is still in the midst of a crisis; the war was given a 72-hour break but might continue. The government’s current mission i.e., Operation Kaveri’s ultimate goal is to bring all our citizens in Sudan back to India. There are yet some people to be rescued from, in fact, there are hundreds more to be rescued.
It is not just India that is attempting to bring back its citizens; other countries are also on a mission to bring back their people. South Korea, Germany, and Japan are among the countries that sent their air force to the rescue operation.
