7 people are being detained in Gujarat following the death of a BSF soldier who objected to his daughter’s obscene video.
The FIR said that Shailesh aka Sunil Yadav, one of the accused, recorded a video of Melaji Vaghela’s daughter and posted it online a few days prior. The BSF soldier’s daughter apparently went to school with Shailesh, and the two were in obscene video.
According to authorities, up to seven people have been detained for reportedly killing a Border Security Force (BSF) employee in Gujarat who was protesting an offensive video of his daughter.
The family of the boy the soldier, Melaji Vaghela (45), asked for help in publishing the footage of his young daughter online allegedly beat him with sharp objects and sticks.
Vaghela, his son, and other family members visited the home of one of the accused, Shailash Yadav, to speak with him and his family in person about the video, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Nadiad VR Bajpai, who verified the arrests. After that, there was a struggle between the two sides, during which Shailesh’s father Dinesh Yadav, uncle Arvind Yadav, and other family members attacked the BSF soldier, killing him instantly.
Seven members of the same family have been detained on suspicion of murder and rioting, including two women. According to the sources, all suspects have been placed in judicial custody.
The First Information Report (FIR) states that Shailesh aka Sunil Yadav of Vanipura village in Nadiad tehsil made a video of Vaghela’s daughter, which he uploaded a few days earlier and which was widely disseminated online.
The BSF soldier’s daughter apparently went to school with Shailesh, and the two were romantically involved.
The teen was not there when Shailesh’s home was the location of the altercation on December 24. However, his family members attacked the BSF men in addition to him. Navdeep, the son of Vaghela, has a severe head injury and is receiving treatment at the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital.
The FIR was filed at the Chaklasi police station by Manjulaben, the deceased BSF jawan’s wife, and a case was filed under the IPC.
With the BSF 56 battalion, Vaghela served as a constable.
