The festivities began on August 20th, called Atham, and will culminate on August 31st, known as Thiruvonam. Onam falls in the month of Chingam, which can be in either August or September.

The spirit of Onam has spread across the nation, with prominent figures including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Draupadi Murmu, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi, and Chief Minister M K Stalin extending their heartfelt greetings.
