Telangana CM inaugurates ₹180-crore Suzen Medicare IV unit
The newly inaugurated unit is set to manufacture essential IV fluids and antibiotics, boosting healthcare access and medical supplies.
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated Suzen Medicare’s new fluid manufacturing plant worth Rs 180 crore on Friday, January 9, in Maheshwaram, Hyderabad. The state-of-the-art facility, spanning 1.60 lakh square feet across four acres in E-City, is set to produce IV fluids and antibiotics, marking a significant milestone for Telangana’s pharmaceutical sector.
The plant, which is ready to commence production, has entered into a technology partnership with Rommelag of Germany, a renowned provider of packaging solutions for injectables. By adopting advanced German technology, Suzen Medicare aims to maintain global standards in manufacturing, ensuring high-quality healthcare products for both domestic and international markets.
Speaking at the inauguration, Chief Minister Reddy praised the company’s decision to establish the facility in Telangana, linking it to the state government’s long-term vision, Telangana Rising 2047. The initiative envisions transforming Telangana into a USD 1 trillion economy by 2034 and a USD 3 trillion economy by 2047. According to the CM, the growth of industrial and manufacturing capabilities, coupled with innovation-driven sectors, is central to this vision.
the state’s economic model, particularly the division into the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) and the Peri Urban Region Economy (PURE).
CURE, he explained, is designed as a hub for high-value services, technology, and innovation, fostering urban economic engines and knowledge-based industries. PURE, on the other hand, focuses on large-scale manufacturing, industrial expansion, and production infrastructure, ensuring that growth is balanced across urban and peri-urban regions. Together, these initiatives are expected to drive robust economic activity and position Telangana as a global industrial and commercial hub.
Reddy expressed confidence in Hyderabad’s potential to compete on the world stage. “With Hyderabad already emerging as a city of global significance, Telangana is now ready to compete with countries like Germany, Japan, South Korea, and cities such as New York,” he said. “We are encouraging industries founded by young entrepreneurs and supporting them to scale their businesses to international standards.”
The CM emphasized Telangana’s stronghold in the pharmaceutical sector, noting that the state produces approximately 40 percent of India’s bulk drugs. “We are excelling in pharma, and the entire world is watching Hyderabad,” he said.
Suzen Medicare’s new plant is expected to further strengthen Telangana’s reputation in the pharmaceutical industry. By producing essential IV fluids and antibiotics domestically, the facility will help reduce dependency on imports and ensure a steady supply of critical medical products, particularly in times of healthcare crises or pandemics. The plant’s advanced German technology, coupled with rigorous quality control, positions it as a benchmark for future pharmaceutical manufacturing projects in India.
The inauguration also underscores the state government’s commitment to creating an investor-friendly ecosystem. Incentives, policy support, and infrastructure development have been key factors attracting significant investments in Telangana, particularly in high-tech manufacturing and pharmaceuticals. This strategy aligns with the Telangana Rising 2047 vision, which seeks not only to enhance economic output but also to create jobs, nurture innovation, and elevate the state’s global profile.
Reddy concluded by reiterating the government’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and industrial growth. “Telangana is a land of opportunities. We welcome investors, innovators, and young entrepreneurs to contribute to our journey toward becoming a trillion-dollar economy,” he said. “Facilities like Suzen Medicare are proof that our policies and vision are translating into real economic development, healthcare advancement, and global recognition.”
With this inauguration, Telangana continues to solidify its position as a leading hub for the pharmaceutical industry in India, while simultaneously advancing its broader economic ambitions under the Telangana Rising 2047 framework. The combination of strategic location, world-class technology, supportive governance, and a skilled workforce positions the state for sustained growth and international competitiveness in the years to come.
