TORTURED FOR NOT HAVING A SON – LED TO DEATH
How developed does India have to be to change this narrow mindset of some Indians? When will this gender discrimination end? When will people stop treating women like machines that make babies?
Are we considered as a developing country, if our mindset is still stuck at the stage where we think the gender of the baby decides a married woman’s worth? Indian parents use marriage to save their daughters from this cruel society, but what’s the guarantee that she is safe there? The news that we get to hear daily scares us to death, here is another piece of news.
A woman in Gurgaon was tortured and harassed by her husband for years straight and the trauma led to her suicide. She was put through physical and mental torture for years and the only reason her husband had was – ‘her not giving him a boy child’. Why do people think that women “give” them babies? They give birth to babies not for anyone but for themselves and the baby.
A woman named Krishna got married to Baljeet Singh in 2015. Baljeet was also so determined in having a boy child and had put Krishna through so much pain from the start. In the 8 years of marriage life, they had 3 children
The three pregnancies of Krishna gave them three girls and that disappointed Baljeet, because Baljeet wanted a boy. The couple’s three children are now aged seven, three, and six months respectively. Poor girls lost their mother to their father’s patriarchy.
Baljeet was so angry and accused his wife of not giving birth to a boy and tortured her because Baljeet thought women are capable of selecting genders for their babies, which is lame. And something even more idiotic about this person is, he rejected his own children waiting for an unborn child.
Krishna who has gone through unexplainable trauma decided to end her life. And like that, an innocent mother left this world and three innocent girls lost their mother at a very young age. And after the incident, Baljeet called Krishna’s family and informed them about her demise.
Krishna’s bother, Bheem Singh who knew what his sister had gone through, filed a complaint against Baljeet accusing him of domestic violence. A case was registered against Baljeet under the section.
Why are families still in that half-witted mindset and think that a son is better than a daughter? You need a woman to give birth to your offspring but that offspring you are looking for cannot be a woman?
In today’s world where women are equally going forward with men – why do families still show this discrimination? Do people have children expecting something out of them? Like a boy brings something a girl cannot?
this is supposed to be an aticle but how long are we gonna read about them and question the society? so here I am asking for an answer using my channel as my voice, what about you? This post is not just to educate you but also to bring you out of your comfort zone where you question reality and try to bring change and be the change.
