Ambedkar, every Indian is familiar with this name, he is not a famous personality he is actually a leader, a leader who led India towards being a democratic, republic nation. If every other freedom fighter fought for independence, Mr. Ambedkar fought for equality, justice, and liberty.
The nation that we are seeing today, this progress is all thanks to him – THE FATHER OF THE INDIAN CONSTITUTION. Today i.e., 14 April 2023, India is celebrating the 132nd birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. Nation salutes the greatest scholar of all time. On this day let us take the privilege of remembering him for his contributions and sacrifices he made for the country.
April 14 1891 in a remote town in Madhya Pradesh was the birth of Republican India. Madhya Pradesh is where Dr. Ambedkar was born; he was born in a family led by Ramji Maloji Sakpal, an army officer. Ambedkar was the last and 14th child of the family.
The great Bhim Rao Ramji Ambedkar aka the Babasaheb Ambedkar wasn’t born a leader, he was made to be a leader. In fact, Dr. Ambedkar’s original name was ‘Bhiva Ramji Sakpal’ and his names ‘Bhim Rao Ambedkar’ and ‘Babasaheb Ambedkar’ were earned by him as a leader.
Since childhood, Ambedkar was a knowledge enthusiast and also had the urge to learn something new, but being born into a caste that was considered low and untouchable, he had to face many complications to pursue his educational career.
Despite all the obstacles and humiliations that he faced during his educational journey, there was not even a single time he took a step back or stopped. His long journey from a government school in Madhya Pradesh to Colombia University and then to the London School of Economics was full of hurdles but his dedication and his strong desire to bring a change in his nation and in the lives of the people is what kept him going.
Ambedkar was married to a 9-year-old girl when he was just 14. Although their marriage was arranged very young, they stuck together with understanding; Ramabai Bhimrao Ambedkar, a woman who played a great role in Dr. Ambedkar’s life as a wife and his support system was given all credit for his success.
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar wrote the Constitution and drafted it with the members of the drafting committee. India which could be achieved by following the constitution would definitely be the dream place of every human. That is how he wanted India to be, a place where everyone is free, and where everyone has the right to live in peace and harmony.
