BJP criticizes AAP’s Atishi for her comment.
Earlier, Delhi BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva promised to reveal truth about Kejriwal’s alleged liquor scam involvement soon.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari reacts sharply to AAP’s Atishi, stating, “Gangs run from jail, not governments,” regarding Kejriwal’s alleged jail comment.
In response to AAP leader Atishi’s remark that “Arvind Kejriwal will run Delhi government from jail,” BJP MP Manoj Tiwari sharply criticized the statement. Tiwari emphasized that jails are where gangs are run, not governments.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Tiwari accused Kejriwal of looting Delhi and mentioned the apparent joy among the people at the prospect of his arrest. He alleged that Kejriwal’s tenure has brought misery to Delhi, claiming that the citizens are furious with him. Tiwari added that sweets were distributed in celebration after Kejriwal’s arrest.
According to Tiwari, the AAP government in Delhi has not accomplished any significant work but has instead focused on personal gains and corruption. He reiterated, “Kejriwal has looted Delhi.”
The BJP MP further warned those suggesting running a government from jail, stating that the concept is more aligned with criminal activities than governance.
Regarding the protests by AAP and the arrest of the Delhi Chief Minister, Tiwari suggested that these events are receiving attention mainly from the media, asserting that the people of Delhi are not engaging in discussions about them.
The comments from Tiwari come amid escalating tensions between the BJP and AAP in the political landscape of Delhi. The allegations and counter-allegations between the two parties continue to dominate headlines, especially in the lead-up to the upcoming elections.
Delhi BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva promised to unveil the truth regarding Arvind Kejriwal’s alleged role in the liquor scam soon.
Mr. Sachdeva, the Delhi BJP President, emphasized that the law is impartial, stating, “Yesterday, Arvind Kejriwal bargained in court, asserting his position as Chief Minister, but the law treats every criminal equally.” He asserted that the truth about Kejriwal’s alleged involvement in the liquor scam would soon be unveiled. Sachdeva’s comments underscored the principle of equality before the law and hinted at the forthcoming revelation regarding Kejriwal’s purported role in the scandal, as reported by news agency ANI.
On Friday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal found himself in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate, a development arising just a day after his arrest in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case linked to money laundering allegations. The court, in a decision that reverberated through political circles, remanded Kejriwal to the custody of the ED for a period of seven days, extending until March 28.
During the court proceedings, the Enforcement Directorate made startling allegations against the Chief Minister of Delhi, painting him as the central figure and orchestrator in the scheme to extort kickbacks from businessmen. According to the agency’s claims, Kejriwal was directly involved in the formulation of the Excise policy, positioning him at the heart of the alleged corruption.
Adding another layer to the narrative, the ED counsel brought up the name of Vijay Nair, the media in-charge of AAP, who was alleged to have been working closely with Arvind Kejriwal. The agency asserted that Nair, residing in close proximity to Kejriwal’s residence, acted as a conduit between AAP and the South group, implicating him as a middleman in the affair.
The allegations did not stop there. The ED counsel went on to claim that the funds under scrutiny amounted not only to a staggering ₹100 crore but also included profits earned by those providing bribes. In a startling revelation, it was mentioned that the Enforcement Directorate had traced Hawala transactions totaling ₹45 crore, purportedly utilized during the Goa Election.
The ramifications of these accusations against Kejriwal, a prominent figure in Indian politics, reverberated across the political spectrum. The arrest and subsequent custody served as a stark reminder of the heightened scrutiny faced by public officials, especially those holding significant positions of power.
As the legal process unfolds and the Enforcement Directorate continues its investigation, the case serves as a sobering reminder of the need for transparency and accountability in governance. The accusations leveled against Kejriwal and his alleged involvement in corruption cast a shadow over his tenure as Delhi’s Chief Minister, leaving many questions unanswered and the political landscape in a state of flux.
