Chennai: A bomb threat targeting popular actress Trisha’s residence on Friday caused a brief wave of alarm, but authorities have confirmed that the threat was a hoax.
According to sources, the police responded immediately upon receiving information and arrived swiftly at her Teynampet residence. A team of officers, accompanied by sniffer dogs, conducted a thorough search of the property to ensure Trisha’s safety. After completing their investigation, they concluded that the threat was false.
This incident comes amid a series of similar threats in Tamil Nadu. Notably, prominent dignitaries, including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, were also reported to have received similar warnings in recent days. Although the threats have been classified as hoaxes, the Tamil Nadu police are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to identify the culprits behind these alarming messages.
The rising number of such incidents has become a concern for both celebrities and authorities. Just a few days prior, actor Vijay’s Neelankarai residence received a bomb threat, prompting a swift police investigation. Last month, former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami’s residence in Chennai was also targeted by a similar threat, raising fears about the increasing frequency of such false alarms.
Apart from these incidents, Trisha is currently in the spotlight for her upcoming projects. She plays the female lead in two highly anticipated films. In ‘Karuppu’, Trisha stars alongside Suriya, with Malayalam actors Indrans, Sshivada, and Swasika, as well as Tamil actors Yogi Babu and Natty in key roles. The film boasts music by the young talent Sai Abhyankkar and cinematography by G.K. Vishnu, who has previously impressed audiences with his work in films like Vijay’s Bigil, Jawan, and Mersal.
Trisha also stars in ‘Vishwambhara’, which is scheduled for release in summer 2026. Announcing the film’s release date, megastar Chiranjeevi highlighted that the story of Vishwambhara is magical and heartwarming, reminiscent of the beloved Chandamama tales. He added that the film will appeal not only to children but also to the child in every adult, promising a captivating cinematic experience for audiences of all ages.
Despite the scare caused by the hoax threat, Trisha continues to focus on her work, and authorities remain vigilant to ensure the safety of celebrities and public figures in the city. Fans can now breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the actress is safe and that precautionary measures were taken promptly to address the situation.
