Dharmendra discharged from hospital, returns home in ambulance
Mumbai: Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra, who had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital and placed on ventilator support for the past few days, has now been discharged from the hospital. The 89-year-old legend, affectionately known as the “He-Man of Bollywood,” has been shifted home for continued medical care and observation, bringing relief to his family, friends, and fans.
According to hospital sources, Dharmendra was discharged earlier today after doctors deemed his condition stable enough for home-based treatment. A fully equipped ambulance was seen leaving the hospital premises in the morning and later spotted arriving at his Juhu residence. Medical staff accompanied the vehicle, ensuring that all necessary life-support facilities were available during the transfer.
However, the actor’s family has remained tight-lipped about the details of his current health status. Reporters stationed outside his home said that only close family members were allowed to enter, while security around the residence has been significantly tightened.
Actor Bobby Deol was seen leaving Breach Candy Hospital around 7 a.m., following the ambulance carrying his father. Visuals showed him arriving home shortly afterward, looking visibly emotional but relieved. According to eyewitnesses, the area near Dharmendra’s residence in Juhu is currently under heavy police presence to maintain crowd control, as concerned fans and well-wishers have gathered outside to show their support.
Meanwhile, Dharmendra’s wife, Hema Malini, took to social media to strongly condemn false reports circulating online that claimed the veteran actor had passed away. In a heartfelt post, she expressed anger and disappointment at the spread of misinformation.
“What is happening is unforgivable!” she wrote. This is extremely disrespectful and irresponsible.
Her statement came shortly after several unverified posts on social media began circulating false claims about Dharmendra’s health, leading to panic among fans. Within minutes, hashtags like #Dharmendra and #GetWellSoonDharamji began trending, as celebrities and fans flooded social media with messages of support and prayers for the veteran actor’s recovery.
Dharmendra, who has been battling age-related health complications for some time, was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital earlier this week after he reportedly complained of breathing difficulties and extreme fatigue. Doctors placed him on ventilator support as a precautionary measure, and he had been under intensive care since then.
On November 11, actor Sunny Deol’s team had issued an official update confirming that Dharmendra was responding positively to treatment. “Sir is recovering and responding well to medical care. Let’s all pray for his continued good health and long life,” the statement read.
Known for his humility and warmth, Dharmendra has received an outpouring of affection from the film fraternity. Fellow actors, directors, and fans have been sending their best wishes ever since news of his hospitalization surfaced.
For now, Dharmendra will continue his recovery at home under medical supervision, surrounded by his family. Doctors have advised rest and limited movement as part of his ongoing treatment plan.
The beloved actor, whose filmography includes iconic movies like Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Phool Aur Patthar, and Seeta Aur Geeta, remains one of Indian cinema’s most cherished figures. His fans across generations continue to pray for his strength and swift recovery.
