ED raids Al Falah University, probes Delhi blast links.

ED teams raided an Okhla office in Delhi, with police and paramilitary forces securing the area during the operation.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday launched a major operation across Delhi-NCR, carrying out simultaneous searches against the trustees and promoters of Al Falah University, Faridabad. The institution has come under intense scrutiny after its alleged links surfaced in the Red Fort area car blast case. According to officials, the searches began early in the morning, around 5:15 am, with multiple ED teams fanning out across the region to inspect the University’s financial and administrative network.

At least 25 premises connected to the Al Falah Trust and the University establishment were raided during the coordinated exercise. One of the prominent locations visited by the ED was an office in Delhi’s Okhla area. The surroundings quickly turned into a high-security zone as Delhi Police and paramilitary forces set up a tight security cordon, ensuring the operation continued without obstruction. Officers familiar with the development said the teams worked methodically, seizing documents, examining digital records, and gathering evidence linked to financial transactions.

The Red Fort blast, which occurred on November 10, claimed the lives of fifteen people, sending shockwaves through the capital. With the investigation widening, the role of multiple doctors associated with Al Falah University’s medical establishment, as well as individuals based in Kashmir, has come under the scanner of anti-terror agencies. Officials believe that the institution’s network may hold answers to several unanswered questions surrounding the incident.

An ED official said the raids form part of a broader investigation into suspected financial irregularities, money laundering, and possible misuse of shell companies. The role of Al-Falah Trust and its related companies is actively being examined,” the official explained.

According to the agency, several “key” personnel overseeing finance and administration at the University were also covered during the searches. These individuals are believed to have had oversight of major monetary decisions, records-keeping, and regulatory compliance for the institution. Officials said their statements and digital traces could prove crucial in understanding the larger financial ecosystem built around the University.

Initial findings from the raids have pointed to multiple warning signs associated with shell-company behaviour. These include the absence of any functional office or genuine physical presence at declared business locations, unusually low or nonexistent utility consumption, and various companies listing the same mobile number and email address. Investigators say such patterns often indicate artificially created entities designed solely for routing money or masking financial trails.

Moreover, the ED has reportedly noticed discrepancies in the University’s claims about its UGC and NAAC recognition. Prima facie, officials believe these inconsistencies may suggest non-compliance with certain regulatory norms required for educational institutions, particularly those operating medical colleges or associated hospitals.

Al Falah University, located in the Dhouj area of Haryana’s Faridabad district, operates a medical college-cum-hospital, making it an important regional institution. Its sudden appearance in a high-profile anti-terror investigation has triggered concern among authorities and the public alike.

For now, the ED is expected to analyse the material collected from the searches before taking further action. The investigation remains active and is likely to expand as more leads emerge through the financial and forensic examination of seized documents.
