Gujarat Election 2022: BJP expects positive outcomes, AAP’s account could be opened, and Congress is losing ground?
Gujarat Elections: BJP is predicting successful results in the upcoming assembly elections in Gujarat.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) can open its account by winning 1 to 3 seats in South Gujarat, while BJP will perform well in Central, South and North Gujarat. This is based on an according to the sources of exit poll results from 182 Assembly constituencies in Gujarat with a sample size of 30,000. The second and final round of the state assembly elections ended on Monday. Along with Himachal Pradesh, which voted on November 12, the results will be announced on December 8.
According to the results, the BJP will benefit from a 2.7% increase in votes in North Gujarat compared to the 2017 assembly elections. The opposition party is expected to win 23 seats this time as against the 14 seats it won in the region in 2017.
Aam Aadmi Party is expected to win 0 to 1 seat in the region with 8.2% votes. BJP is expected to get 4.4% vote share in Central Gujarat compared to 2017. In 2017, it won 37 seats in the region; This time, it is predicted to win by 47. According to IANS research, the BJP will win 45 to 49 seats in the region.
The expected seats for the Congress in the region are 11 to 15, down from the 22 it won there in 2017. Its vote share decreased by 9.8%. As per IANS estimate, AAP could win 0 to 1 seat in the region with 10.7% vote share. In South Gujarat, the BJP could lose around 6.2% of the vote, down from 54.1% in 2017 to 47.9% this time. However, it is expected to win 24 to 28 seats in this region. In South Gujarat, the party won 25 seats in 2016.
In South Gujarat, the Congress vote share is expected to drop by 13.5%. Here, it is expected to win 6 seats from the 8 seats it won in 2017. There is a possibility of winning up to three seats.
