The news of G Marimuthu’s sudden departure was confirmed by Ramesh Bala, a film trade analyst and industry insider, who shared the sad news on X (formerly known as Twitter). Marimuthu was 57 years old and was well-known for his role in the Tamil TV series “Ethirneechal.” Besides his acting career, he was also respected as an assistant director, collaborating with renowned filmmakers like Mani Ratnam.

Ramesh Bala’s tweets expressed the shock and sadness of the industry and fans. In one tweet, he described Marimuthu as a “Popular Tamil character actor” who had gained a significant following for his TV serial dialogues. He offered his condolences and wished for Marimuthu’s soul to rest in peace.

The tragic incident unfolded when G Marimuthu collapsed at around 8:30 am on a Friday morning while working on dubbing for his TV serial “Ethirneechal” in Chennai. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but, unfortunately, was pronounced dead.
