MP: President Murmu and Prime Minister Modi to attend Pravasi Bharatiya Divas event in Indore next month
According to officials, President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention, the annual gathering of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), which will be held next month in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
This was revealed at a meeting in Bhopal to review preparations for the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention and the state’s Global Investors Summit in Indore next month.
The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention is a flagship event of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) that provides a platform for engagement and connection with Indians living in other countries.
During the review meeting, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated that these two programmes will be critical for Madhya Pradesh’s branding.
Officials said during the meeting that the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention will be held between January 8 and 10, and that PM Modi will attend on the second day of the programme.
President Murmu will present the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman award on January 10.
The theme of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention is ‘NRI: Reliable Partners for India’s Progress during Amrit Mahotsav,’ while the theme of the exhibition is ‘Amrit Mahotsav of Independence – Contribution of Non-residents in Indian Freedom Struggle,’ according to officials.
Guyana President Mohammed Irfan Ali will be the chief guest at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas event. During the meeting, it was revealed that the honoree would be Zaneta Mascarenhas, a member of the Australian House of Representatives.
According to officials, approximately 2,500 representatives from various organisations and industries from various countries will attend the Global Investors Summit on January 11 and 12.
