“PM Modi Initiates 21 Modern Railway Station Foundations in Telangana”
In a transformative move aimed at enhancing the country’s railway infrastructure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate a groundbreaking initiative on August 6th, under the banner of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. This visionary project will witness the foundation stone laying for a remarkable 21 state-of-the-art railway stations in the state of Telangana. Moreover, this ceremony marks a significant step in a nationwide endeavour, where a total of 508 railway stations, with an aggregate cost of 2,079.29 crores, are poised to undergo redevelopment across India, all orchestrated through virtual connectivity.
At the heart of this monumental undertaking are the six stations located in the bustling capital of Telangana – Hyderabad, Hafizpet, Hitec City, Uppuguda, Malakpet, and Malkajgiri. The scope of this project is not merely superficial; it is an investment in the nation’s future. A substantial financial allocation of 894.09 crores has been dedicated to transforming the railway infrastructure in Telangana, highlighting the government’s commitment to modernizing transportation facilities.
The Southern Central Railway zone is central to this project, with 50 railway stations spanning four states set to undergo an extraordinary metamorphosis. Of these, 36 stations are nestled in the Telugu-speaking states, promising a radical transformation of travel experience for the denizens of this region.

The transformative effects of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme resonate far beyond Telangana. This revolutionary initiative spreads its wings across the vast expanse of India, making a resounding impact on states such as Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan (each with 55 stations), Bihar (49 stations), Maharashtra (44 stations), West Bengal (37 stations), Madhya Pradesh (34 stations), Assam (32 stations), Odisha (25 stations), Punjab (22 stations), Gujarat (21 stations), Jharkhand (20 stations), and Andhra Pradesh as well as Tamil Nadu (each with 18 stations). Additionally, Haryana is slated to witness the transformation of 15 stations, while Karnataka is set to benefit from 13 redeveloped stations.
The grand vision of the scheme encompasses the redevelopment of a total of 1,309 stations, solidifying the government’s commitment to an elevated travel experience for all citizens.
