Boosting Road Infrastructure:
One of the prime focuses of this visit is to enhance the nation’s road infrastructure. Among these projects are the 108 km ‘four-lane access-controlled Greenfield highway from Warangal to Khammam section of NH-163G’ and the 90 km ‘four-lane access-controlled greenfield highway from Khammam to Vijayawada section of NH-163G.’ These road developments have a combined budget of approximately Rs 6,400 crore. Once completed, they are expected to reduce the travel distance between Warangal and Khammam by approximately 14 km and between Khammam and Vijayawada by about 27 km, significantly improving connectivity in the region.
Prime Minister Modi will also dedicate a crucial road project – the ‘four-laning of the 59 km long Suryapet to Khammam section of NH-365BB.’ This project, valued at about Rs. 2,460 crore, is part of the Hyderabad – Visakhapatnam Corridor and has been developed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana. It promises to enhance connectivity to Khammam district and the coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh, fostering economic growth and development.
Advancing Railway Connectivity:
In addition to road infrastructure, the Prime Minister will dedicate ’37 Kms of Jaklair – Krishna New Railway Line,’ constructed at a cost exceeding Rs 500 crore. Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi will flag off the inaugural Hyderabad (Kacheguda) – Raichur – Hyderabad (Kacheguda) train service via video conferencing. This new railway service will connect Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Narayanpet districts in Telangana with Raichur district in Karnataka, creating a lifeline for commuters, students, laborers, and local industries in these areas.
Strengthening Oil and Gas Infrastructure:
As part of his visit, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone and dedicate important oil and gas pipeline projects. He will dedicate the ‘Hassan-Cherlapalli LPG Pipeline Project,’ constructed at a cost of about Rs 2,170 crore. This LPG pipeline, running from Hassan in Karnataka to Cherlapalli (a suburb of Hyderabad), offers a safe, cost-efficient, and environmentally friendly means of transporting and distributing LPG in the region. Additionally, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the ‘Multi-Product Petroleum Pipeline of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) from Krishnapatnam to Hyderabad (Malkapur).’ This 425-kilometer pipeline, with an estimated cost of Rs 1,940 crore, will serve as a safe, faster, and more efficient mode of transporting petroleum products in the area, contributing to the economic development of the region.
Empowering Higher Education:
Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate five new buildings at Hyderabad University. These include the School of Economics, School of Mathematics & Statistics, School of Management Studies, Lecture Hall Complex – III, and Sarojini Naidu School of Arts & Communication (Annexe). The expansion of infrastructure at Hyderabad University underscores the government’s commitment to providing improved facilities and amenities to both students and faculty, fostering academic excellence and research in the region.
