Punjab CM meets with KCR and pitches for a united front against the BJP.
Bhagwant Singh Mann, Chief Minister of Punjab and leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), met with Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday at Pragathi Bhavan to discuss the country’s current political situation and the need to unite like-minded parties against the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
During the meeting, which lasted more than a half-hour, Mann is said to have told the Chief Minister, while congratulating him on the launch of the BRS and the inauguration of the national office in Delhi, how AAP national convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has been fighting the BJP relentlessly by contesting elections in several states.
He emphasised the importance of banding together with like-minded parties to bring the BJP-led government at the Centre to heel, which is enacting anti-poor, anti-farmer, and anti-labour policies.
Mann was welcomed with a bouquet of flowers at Rao Pragati Bhavan and taken inside. A press release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) stated that the two CMs discussed the political situation in the country as well as Telangana progress, Punjab state governance and other issues.
