Rahul Gandhi Alleges Massive Corruption in Kaleshwaram Project, Claims Rs 1 Lakh Crore by BRS-BJP
In a recent statement, Rahul Gandhi has raised serious concerns about alleged corruption in the Kaleshwaram Project, accusing the BRS-BJP alliance of embezzling a staggering Rs 1 lakh crore. The Kaleshwaram Project, a significant irrigation and water supply initiative, has come under scrutiny as Gandhi contends that funds intended for the project have been misappropriated. The politician’s accusations have sparked a heated debate, with calls for a thorough investigation into the financial management of the project. As the political landscape simmers with controversy, the veracity of these claims remains to be determined through a transparent and impartial inquiry.
Gandhi’s allegations have added fuel to the already intense political climate surrounding the Kaleshwaram Project, a key infrastructure endeavour aimed at addressing water scarcity and bolstering agricultural development. The prominent leader contends that the staggering amount of Rs 1 lakh crore, intended for the project’s progress and public welfare, has been syphoned off through corrupt practices by the BRS-BJP alliance.
Corruption in Kaleshwaram Project
The Kaleshwaram Project, a multi-purpose irrigation scheme in Telangana, has been hailed for its potential to transform the region’s agricultural landscape. However, the shadow of corruption now looms over its achievements, threatening to undermine its intended impact. The call for a thorough investigation into these allegations has gained momentum, with demands for accountability and transparency echoing across political circles.
As the controversy unfolds, it not only raises questions about the financial integrity of the project but also contributes to the broader discourse on political ethics and governance. The outcome of any investigation will undoubtedly have far-reaching implications, influencing public trust in political institutions and shaping the narrative for the upcoming political landscape. Until then, the Kaleshwaram Project remains at the centre of a storm, caught between aspirations for progress and the cloud of alleged corruption.
Rahul Gandhi Accuses BRS-BJP Alliance of Embezzling Rs 1 Lakh Crore in Kaleshwaram Project; Calls for Accountability and Transparency.
During a public meeting in Kolhapur, Rahul Gandhi made startling allegations against the BRS and BJP, claiming that they collaborated to loot a massive Rs 1 lakh crore from the Kaleshwaram project. According to Gandhi, this alleged corruption has saddled every family in Telangana with a burden of Rs 31,500 per year until 2040 to repay the debt incurred by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
In his address, Gandhi also raised concerns about the structural integrity of the Medigadda barrage, alleging severe damage due to corruption. He questioned why projects like Nagarjunasagar, Singur, and Sriram Sagar, constructed during Congress rule, did not face similar issues.
The public meeting, ‘Praja Bheri,‘ witnessed the presence of key Congress leaders, including TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, AICC Telangana in-charge Manikrao Thakre, and Congress candidates running for seats in the former Mahbubnagar district.
Election Set to Unfold as a Clash between ‘Dorala TS’ and ‘Prajala TS’
The upcoming election promises to be a riveting battle, poised as a clash between two distinct forces: ‘Dorala TS’ and ‘Prajala TS.’ The political landscape is charged with anticipation as voters prepare to choose between these contrasting ideologies and approaches. ‘Dorala TS,’ presumably representing a more established and traditional stance, is set to contend with ‘Prajala TS,’ symbolising the voice of the people. The campaigns are expected to intensify as both sides vie for public support, each aiming to shape the future trajectory of the region. With the electorate at the centre of this political showdown, the election is not just a competition between parties but a decisive moment in which the aspirations and preferences of the people will come to the forefront. As the electoral drama unfolds, the dynamics between ‘Dorala TS’ and ‘Prajala TS’ will undoubtedly shape the narrative, setting the stage for a closely watched and consequential battle at the polls.
The Congress leader asserted that the legacy of KCR’s family includes an enormous debt burden, placing an annual payment responsibility of nearly ₹31,000 on each household until the year 2040. Promising a reckoning if Congress assumes power, he emphasised the need to hold those responsible accountable for what he termed as “loot.”
Highlighting the contrast between the Congress and the current government, he pointed out the historical commitment of Congress administrations in allocating land to Dalits, Adivasis, and other marginalised sections. However, he expressed concern that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government was allegedly attempting to seize these lands by manipulating records through the Dharni portal.
Accusing the BRS leadership of favouritism, he claimed that benefits under the Dharani portal were selectively distributed among BRS leaders, their associates, and public representatives. Furthermore, he criticised KCR and his family for retaining crucial portfolios such as revenue, finance, liquor, and mining, alleging that these strategic positions were being exploited for personal gain at the expense of public welfare.
