Rahul Gandhi wore a t-shirt in the scalding cold and declared, “Won’t wear sweater until…”

Speaking at a street corner gathering this evening in Ambala, Haryana, Mr. Gandhi declared, “I make a resolution that as long as I do not shiver, I will simply wear a T-shirt.”

Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, stated on Monday that he made the decision to wear only T-shirts on the Bharat Jodo Yatra after seeing three impoverished girls “shivering in ripped garments” in Madhya Pradesh, during the controversy surrounding his decision to dress warmly.

“People often question why I’m wearing this white T-shirt and whether I’m feeling cold. I’ll explain the justification. In Kerala, it was hot and muggy when the yatra started. However, it was chilly as we crossed into Madhya Pradesh.

“Three impoverished female youngsters came to me one day wearing damaged clothing. They were shivering when I held them since they were not dressed appropriately. On that day, I made the resolution to only wear a T-shirt till I stop shivering “Speaking at a gathering on a street corner this evening in Ambala, Haryana, Mr. Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi stated that he wants to send those girls a message.

“I’ll consider putting on a sweatshirt once I start to shiver. I want to tell those three girls that if you feel cold, Rahul Gandhi will feel the same way,” said he.

The Wayanad MP said last week that during the Uttar Pradesh part of the yatra, the media was focusing on his outfit while paying “no attention to the poor farmers and labourers walking along with him in damaged clothes.”

The statement he made at Bhagpat was, “My being in a T-shirt is not a real question, the real question is why the farmers, impoverished labourers of the country, and their children are in damaged clothes, T-shirts, and without sweaters.”

On Monday, Mr. Gandhi also took aim at the PM Fasal Bima Yojana, saying that when impacted beneficiaries go to claim compensation after their crops are destroyed by the whims of nature and other factors and the firm is nowhere to be seen.

The former Congress leader went on to claim that one industrialist controls the whole apple trade in Himachal Pradesh, citing newspaper reports. He said that the same businessman controlled the entire apple trade in Jammu and Kashmir as well.

Regarding farmers who participated in demonstrations against the central farm laws that have since been repealed, Mr. Gandhi stated that the Congress party had argued in Parliament that “700 farmers had died during the stir against farm laws, at least acknowledge their sacrifice and give them martyr status, but government does not accept they had died.”

The march is currently travelling through Haryana.

Gandhi will host the Indian flag on January 30 when the yatra reaches Srinagar, where it will come to a finale. It began on September 7 in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu.

The march has thus far crossed Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh.
