Rahul Gandhi kicked off his Bihar campaign on Wednesday, addressing enthusiastic crowds at rallies in Muzaffarpur and Darbhanga.

As the battle for Bihar intensifies, the Congress is gearing up for an all-out campaign led by its top leaders. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are set to address around 15 rallies across the state, signaling the party’s determination to make a strong comeback in the upcoming Assembly elections. Party sources confirmed on Wednesday that both leaders will travel extensively through Bihar, joining forces with allies in the INDIA bloc, which includes the RJD and the Left parties.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, who recently underwent a pacemaker implantation procedure, is also expected to take part in the campaign. Despite health concerns, Kharge is set to address three major rallies and hold a few press conferences in Bihar, reflecting the importance the party attaches to this election. His participation is being seen as a morale booster for Congress workers on the ground.

Rahul Gandhi officially kicked off his campaign on Wednesday with two rallies in Muzaffarpur and Darbhanga, where he drew sizeable crowds. Speaking alongside RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, Rahul struck a strong note of unity and optimism. The rallies, part of the Mahagathbandhan (INDIA bloc) campaign, focused on issues such as unemployment, inflation, and corruption under the current government.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who is currently in Wayanad, is expected to join the campaign later this week. She will address multiple rallies across the state, bringing her trademark grassroots energy to the Congress effort. Party leaders believe her presence will help energize women voters and the youth — key demographics in Bihar’s electoral equation.

The Congress’s Bihar affairs in-charge Krishna Allavaru, state unit chief Rajesh Ram, and several senior leaders including K. C. Venugopal, Bhupesh Baghel, Sachin Pilot, Randeep Surjewala, Syed Naseer Hussain, Ashok Gehlot, Tariq Anwar, Gaurav Gogoi, Mohammad Jawed, and Akhilesh Prasad Singh are also expected to hit the campaign trail. Their combined presence is aimed at projecting a united and rejuvenated Congress.

Taking to social media, K. C. Venugopal posted on X, “The Mahagathbandhan rallies in Sakra and Darbhanga today, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi ji and Tejashwi Yadav ji, have set the tone for an electrifying campaign to usher in a pro-people government that replaces the corrupt, communal, and criminal NDA government currently in power.”

Polling for the Bihar Assembly elections will be held in two phases—on November 6 and 11—with results to be declared on November 14. The opposition INDIA bloc has declared RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav as its chief ministerial candidate, hoping to capitalize on anti-incumbency sentiment and a united front.

With the campaign season in full swing, Bihar is witnessing a fierce contest between the NDA, led by the BJP, and the INDIA alliance, spearheaded by the RJD and Congress. As Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi take center stage, the Congress hopes to reignite its presence in Bihar’s dynamic political landscape.
