The lawyer stated that he is proud to have defended a Fauji Family pro-bono, emphasizing that his commitment was based on principles rather than monetary gain. He dismissed speculation about his legal fees, urging people to focus on facts rather than rumors. He reiterated that justice and integrity guided his decision to represent the case without any financial expectations. Addressing the ongoing discussions, he emphasized that unnecessary speculation should be put to rest, as his work was done in service of truth and fairness, not for financial benefit.

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty’s legal representative has strongly condemned the false narrative fabricated and circulated on social media following actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic death. He emphasized that the misinformation spread about his client was completely uncalled for.

The lawyer further stated that the outcome of the investigation restores faith in justice and the judiciary, reinforcing the importance of a thorough legal process over public speculation.

On Saturday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) submitted its closure report, stating that there was no evidence to suggest that anyone had abetted Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide. With this, Rhea Chakraborty and her family have been given a clean chit.

Reacting to the closure report, Rhea’s lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, issued a statement expressing gratitude to the CBI for its detailed investigation. We appreciate the agency for thoroughly examining all aspects of the case from every possible angle before concluding their investigation. The false narrative perpetuated on social media and electronic media was unnecessary and unfair. During the pandemic, when people were confined to their homes, sensationalism took over, and innocent individuals were unfairly targeted. It is important that such incidents do not repeat in the future,” he said.

Maneshinde also urged media professionals to reflect on their role in amplifying misinformation. He stated, “Rhea Chakraborty endured immense hardships and was unjustly incarcerated for 27 days, despite having done no wrong. Justice Sarang V. Kotwal granted her bail, but by then, the damage had already been done. Her family also suffered in silence, showing remarkable resilience in the face of adversity. They approached me for legal assistance through a close friend who has ties with the defense community. The threats and harassment that Rhea, her family, and my legal team faced were relentless. However, we remained steadfast in our pursuit of justice.”

He further clarified that his legal services for Rhea Chakraborty’s case were provided pro bono, dismissing speculation regarding his fees. “I take pride in having defended a Fauji Family without any monetary expectations. This should put an end to any conjecture surrounding my remuneration,” he asserted.

Maneshinde also acknowledged the support he and Rhea received from certain sections of the media. “I extend my gratitude to those in the media who stood by me and Rhea, supporting our fight for justice. India remains a country where every citizen seeking justice has hope, thanks to our strong and independent judiciary,” he concluded.

His death sparked nationwide controversy, leading to multiple investigations by the Mumbai Police, Enforcement Directorate (ED), Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and the CBI. With the CBI’s closure report, the legal chapter of this case appears to have reached its conclusion.
