Tech shift caused IT slump: Minister Sridhar Babu.
Minister Sridhar Babu stated that he is open to suggestions from K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) to enhance the growth of the IT industry in Telangana. Emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts, he acknowledged KTR’s contributions to the sector and expressed his willingness to build upon them for further progress. Sridhar Babu highlighted that technological advancements and evolving industry trends require adaptive strategies to maintain Telangana’s position as a leading IT hub. He reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering innovation, attracting investments, and creating employment opportunities. The minister also invited industry leaders to contribute ideas for strengthening the state’s IT ecosystem.
Collaboration for IT Growth
Sridhar Babu expressed his readiness to take suggestions from BRS working president KT Rama Rao (who was not present in the House) to advance the growth of the IT industry in Telangana. He also highlighted that 70 new Global Capability Centres (GCCs) have been set up in Hyderabad, and the state government is actively experimenting with them to maximize their potential.
Addressing Hyderabad’s Water Scarcity Issue
On the issue of drinking water scarcity in Hyderabad, he stated that citizens believe the main reason is a seven-year delay by the BRS government in completing the Keshavapuram project
Musi Riverfront Development and Urban Infrastructure
He emphasized that the Musi Riverfront Development Project is a regenerative initiative by the state government, aimed at enhancing both the aesthetic appeal of the city and the quality of life of its residents. He elaborated on the H-City project, outlining its key components, including sanitation, road extensions, nala development, flyovers, tunnel corridors, and pedestrian infrastructure.
To address traffic congestion in the eastern part of Hyderabad, he announced the construction of elevated corridors at the Paradise-Shamirpet and Paradise-Dairy Farm Road junctions, spanning 18 km and costing over Rs 17,500 crore.
Build Now Application for Streamlining Construction Permits
Sridhar Babu introduced the “Build Now” application, designed to simplify the process of obtaining building permissions. He explained that the system, powered by Artificial Intelligence, will drastically reduce the response time from 5-6 months to just 10 minutes, with future upgrades enabling instant approvals.
The minister stated that after April 10, the Build Now application will be expanded to cover other municipalities and municipal corporations across the state.
Boosting Warangal’s Development
He announced that the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) will receive around Rs 300 crore for various development projects, in addition to Rs 4,170 crore for which administrative sanctions have been granted. These projects include the Devanuru eco-park, Warangal Outer Ring Road, and the beautification and development of Bhadrakali Cheruvu.

Sridhar Babu reiterated the Congress government’s commitment to fostering IT growth, improving urban infrastructure, and ensuring sustainable development. He assured that while the administration will uphold successful policies from the past, it will also address shortcomings and introduce innovative solutions to propel Telangana into a new era of progress.
