The “Gruha Lakshmi” scheme is part of the Telangana government’s larger efforts to promote affordable housing and improve the living conditions of people.

The “Gruha Lakshmi” scheme is a flagship housing scheme launched by the government of Telangana under the leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to women from economically weaker sections of society to help them build or purchase a house.

Telangana will introduce a new scheme. Beginning next month, Gruha Lakshmi will provide underprivileged women a Rs. 3 lakhs grant to help them construct their own homes on their property, and starting on June 24, 1.5 lakh tribals will start receiving ‘Podu’ land titles covering 4 lakh acres.

At the ceremonies on Friday for the state foundation day, the announcements were made by the chief minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

He said that the Gruha Lakshmi project is for the poor who own land but are unable to build homes during the important ceremonial event conducted at the state Secretariat.

The scheme has been widely praised for its focus on women empowerment and its efforts to promote affordable housing. By providing women with the financial assistance needed to build or purchase a house, the scheme aims to help them achieve greater financial independence and improve their overall quality of life.

In three phases, Rs 3 lakh would be used to finance the building of each home under this plan. The government would invest Rs 12,000 crore to carry out this project, which will lead to the construction of 4 lakh dwellings.

The administration has also chosen to award house plots to the qualified residents of the state as part of the decennial festivities. The deserving poor will be decided on, and Land will be provided for them in their own villages.

The Chief Minister, often known as KCR, said that starting on June 24, 1.5 lakh tribal members will acquire land titles covering 4 lakh acres.

Tribals’ long-held desire will finally be fulfilled. The government is giving the Tribal people land rights as a long-term solution to the issue of podu lands. Up to 1.50 lakh Tribal people who depend on the resources of the forest are given ownership rights over four lakh acres of podu lands. The Rythu Bandhu initiative is also being implemented in these locations through additional procedures.

The declarations made by KCR become significant because the state’s Assembly elections are scheduled for later this year.

KCR claimed that although the state’s economy has grown to be one of the strongest in the nation, it still has a number of objectives and benchmarks to hit. He said that by conquering the challenges in a brief nine-year period, Telangana has grown economically and established itself as a role model for the entire nation.

According to the Chief Minister, Telangana’s GSDP increased from Rs 5.06 lakh crore in 2014 to about Rs 13 lakh crore in 2017. The state’s per capita income increased as well, rising from Rs 1.24 lakh to Rs 3.17 lakh in just 9 years.

KCR described Telangana’s journey over the past nine years and its growth during a one-and-a-half-hour address.

He emphasised that Telangana is the only state in which all homes have access to clean, fresh water from faucets.

He remembered how difficult it was for the state to get started because of problems with the provision of water and power and a lack of resources. He described how the BRS government’s dedication and diligence brought about a turnaround.

The Chief Minister emphasised that Telangana was currently leading the nation in terms of electricity consumption per person while Punjab was vying for the title of top paddy grower.

He asserted that numerous states have imitated Telangana’s human-faced policies, making them role models for the nation.
