Union Home Minister Amit Shah has met the protesting wrestlers. This meeting took place on the night of 3 June at Amit Shah’s official residence. Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, and some coaches had reached there. It is reported that there was a conversation between Amit Shah and the wrestlers for more than two hours.

According to the report, during the meeting with Amit Shah, the wrestlers discussed the status of the investigation into the allegations against Brij Bhushan Singh.

The wrestlers also urged that a significant charge sheet be prepared as soon as possible.

 On this, the Home Minister said that proper procedure needs to be followed.

Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said he had already encouraged the wrestlers to assist fully in the impartial probe and to let the law take its course.

 In these, many alleged incidents related to sexual harassment, molestation, and intimidation are mentioned. The first FIR includes allegations against six wrestlers. The second FIR was written on the basis of the complaint of the father of a minor wrestler. According to the FIR, two of the allegations are of demanding sexual favours in exchange for professional help. At least 15 cases are of sexual harassment, with alleged incidents of inappropriate touching, touching of breasts, touching of navel, and intimidation.

In both FIRs, a complaint was registered under IPC sections 354 (assault or criminal force on a woman with intent to insult her modesty), 354A (sexual harassment), 354D (stalking), and 34 (offence with common intention). In these regulations, the penalty ranges from one to three years in prison. Sections of the Poxo Act have also been applied in the event of a minor, with a penalty of five to seven years in prison. The alleged incidents detailed in the complaint occurred between 2012 and 2022. It has also been reported that the occurrences occurred both in India and abroad.
