Yash ready to begin shooting for Ramayana.
Mumbai – Kannada superstar Yash, who rose to pan-India stardom with the blockbuster KGF franchise, is all set to commence shooting for Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious mythological epic Ramayana. After wrapping up a significant schedule of his upcoming gangster drama Toxic, Yash is now shifting his focus to the much-anticipated cinematic retelling of the Indian epic.
According to sources close to the production, the makers of Ramayana have planned a grand welcome for Yash on set, marking the beginning of his journey in this magnum opus. The film also stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita, forming a powerful lead trio for the project.
Photos and videos of the actor seeking blessings at the temple have surfaced online, garnering attention from fans across the country. The visit is seen as a symbolic gesture, aligning with the gravity and cultural significance of his role in Ramayana.
Ramayana is being helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari, known for directing critically and commercially successful films such as Dangal and Chhichhore. The project is envisioned as a two-part franchise, with the first installment scheduled for a grand release on Diwali 2026, and the second part set to hit screens during Diwali 2027.
What makes this venture even more exciting is Yash’s dual involvement—not just as an actor but also as a co-producer. He is bankrolling the film under his production banner, Monster Mind Creations, in collaboration with Namit Malhotra’s DNEG, a studio renowned for its expertise in visual effects and large-scale productions.
Adding further star power to the project is the musical collaboration between two legends—Oscar-winning composers A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer. This unprecedented East-meets-West musical union is expected to deliver a powerful and emotionally resonant soundtrack, perfectly suited for the mythological theme of the film.
The film’s makers have spared no effort in assembling a top-tier cast and crew to ensure an authentic and visually grand retelling of the revered epic. With Yash stepping into the role of Ravana, audiences can expect a fierce and dramatic portrayal that adds depth and complexity to the narrative.
As the cameras roll in Mumbai, anticipation is at an all-time high for Ramayana, which promises to be one of the biggest cinematic events in Indian film history.
