Standford University Scientists have created a advanced wireless bandage which speeds up healing process up to 25% under real-time monitoring system of chronic healings.
Usually, we all use bandage in the process of first-aid for mild cuts or injury to speed up the healing process, most of them may facing problems with chronic healings or bruises, which takes time to heal and some wound infections become life-threating.
Standford University scientists have created an advanced wireless bandage which speeds up healing process up to 25% under real-time monitoring system of chronic healings.
These Smart Bandages are integrated with Biosensor, Micro Controller Unit (MCU), Crystal Oscillator, High Pass Filter (HPF), adhesive Sensing Electrodes, radio antenna.
This smart bandage is a prototype gadget with two electronic thicknesses. The top layer consists of a elastic polymer film with attached electrical components, while the bottom layer of the polymer contains a wound-associated hydrogel.
If in case the wound taking time to healing and forming infection, the sensor gadgets pass the data to the Micro Controller Unit which releases a mild electrical power into the woundable to further the process of reduce the wound infections and tissue closure.
According to the co-author Artem Trotsyuk, “The sensor in the device with stimulation, the smart bandage make wound heal fast, with keep tracking on the chronic healings is improving” he said.
The study, released Nov. 24 in the journal Nature Biotechnology, also demonstrated that electrical stimulation activates selenop and apoe genes important for cell growth and wound healing.
Comparing to normal bandage the advance gadget smart bandage speeds up the healing process of chronic healings by 25% and skin regrow by 50%.
