Kuldeep Yadav missing the second Test against India has angered fans, who think KL Rahul and Rahul Dravid made a terrible decision.
India vs. Bangladesh, second Test: Kuldeep Yadav was replaced by fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat for the game in Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
Kuldeep Yadav was a major factor in India’s 188-run victory over Bangladesh in the first Test at Chattogram’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
Kuldeep took up to eight wickets during the game, assisting India in taking a 1-0 series lead. As India bowled Bangladesh out for 150 in their opening innings, the left-arm wrist spinner also claimed his third five-wicket haul in tests.
Kuldeep, however, was left off the starting line-up for the second Test match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur against the Tigers. Instead, India chose to start fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat.
“We made one adjustment; Unadkat replaces Kuldeep. It was unfortunate for us to leave him (Kuldeep) out, but it gave Unadkat a chance, Rahul reportedly said during the toss.
Kuldeep has been in and out of the Indian Test line-up for a long time despite having made his Test debut back in 2017 against Australia.
Rahul, who had previously been undecided about participating in the Dhaka Test, thought that the pitch would be favourable for batting and aid both pacers and spinners.
Despite the obvious grass, this place is often a decent place to bat. Both pacers and spinners can typically find some bounce here, according to Rahul.
While this was going on, the fans weren’t in the least bit pleased that Kuldeep had been left off the starting line-up for the match against Bangladesh.
The previous game’s Man of the Match is sitting out today, thus… terrible choice by Rahul Dravid and KL Rahul,” one of the supporters remarked.
