AAP – THE 9TH NATIONAL PARTY OF INDIA.
On 10 April 2023, Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party was announced as a National Party by the Election Commission of India. Let us learn the journey of the party from a state-level party to a national party.
The Aam Aadmi Party – [ AAP], Was Started On 26Th November 2012, By Arvind Kejriwal and his Companions (Prashant Bhushan, Yogendra Yadav, Kumar Vishwas, etc.)
The Reason for the formation of AAP IS, there was a difference of opinion between Kejriwal and activist Anna Hazare regarding the incorporation of electoral politics into the popular 2011 Indian anti-corruption movement demanding a Jan Lokpal Bill.
Hazare wanted the movement to be politically agnostic, whereas Kejriwal believed that the failure of the agitation route required changes in the government’s representation. Finally, on December 3, 2015, the AAP government passed the Jan Lokpal Bill.
Making its electoral debut in 2013 -DELHI LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS. With an ideology of populism, secularism, nationalism & socialism
The party is now led by Arvind Kejriwal as the party leader, who is now the chief minister of Delhi. And Saurabh Bharadwaj as, The spokes person (& other official spokespersons).
It has Sanjay Singh as a Rajyasabha leader.

It has political affairs committee PAC which plays a major role in the functioning of the party.

It also has a student wing Named – [Chatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti – CYSS
A youth Wing Named – AYW [ AAP YOUTH WING]
A women’s wing Named – AMS (AAP MAHILA SHAKTI)
And a labor wing – svs shrank Vikas Sangathan.
The part of the whole membership of 10.05 million (information according to 2014 Surveys) Real-time membership is yet to be updated.
With its central political position – AAP has an occupancy of 10 Rajya Sabha seats,
161 – state legislative assemblies,
I.e., 92 / 171 – Punjab legislative assembly,
62/70 – Delhi legislative assembly,
2/40 – Goa,
5 /182 – Gujarat.
As of now, AAP has its government established in Delhi and Gujarat. Apart from this AAP was also accorded the state party status in Goa and Gujarat.
It also has its state wings in other states like – Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, and Manipur.
AAP is a well-structured political party with Arvind Kejriwal as the visionary, which has all the elements which a democratic national party need.
In the recent manifesto of (2022) AAP has addressed all the issues of the society, Such as Education, Agriculture, Trade, corruption-free administration, free health care, and women empowerment.
- ₹10 lakh annual grant to Panchayats and ₹10,000 salary for panchayat Pradhan.
- Free pilgrimage scheme.
- A compensation of one crore for soldiers who were killed in the line of duty.
Arvind Kejriwal, who has a strong vision and gut to express the underlying Issues of society has put forward 3 pillars of the Aam Aadmi Party’s core ideology: staunch patriotism, staunch honesty, and humanity.
Kejriwal also wrote a book named SWARAJ – which is a complete description of how to achieve true swaraj – (which was said by Mahatma Gandhi).
The root of the book explains the major issues of the country- agriculture being ignored and natural resources being exploited by corporates. And many other aspects.
According to us, AAP has all the elements which a national political party need.
As politics in India have become a national drama, where leaders are fighting for some unimportant and baseless issues making the real issues corned and neglected.
