Amit Shah’s Major Work in Karnataka Ahead of The Elections Next Year
Only in 2019 did the incumbent party win its first election in the area after a JD(S) leader joined them.
The much-anticipated enlargement of the Karnataka government’s cabinet to include disgruntled BJP MLAs like KS Eshwarappa and Ramesh Jarkiholi soon before the 2023 polls received approval today from Union Home Minister Amit Shah. In addition, he presided over a crucial gathering of Karnataka booth-level workers to talk about the grassroots preparations necessary for the state’s May 2023 Assembly elections.

Party heavyweights included state Home Minister Araga Jnanendra, BJP General Secretary and state in-charge Arun Singh, National General Secretary BL Santhosh, and National Secretary CT Ravi were present in addition to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
The Janata Dal (Secular) and Congress have historically held sway in the Old Mysuru region, where the BJP is consistently attempting to make inroads. Only in 2019 did the incumbent party win its first election in the area after a JD(S) leader joined them.
Amit Shah inaugurated the Mega Dairy factory in Maddur Taluk in Mandya district, a part of the Old Mysuru region, on Friday while standing on stage beside former prime minister and JD(S) leader HD Devegowda. This facility has the ability to process about 14 lakh litres of milk per day.
Amit Shah attacked the Congress in addition to the traditional Hindtuva and development arguments made by the party, claiming that Siddaramaiah, who presided as the state’s chief minister from 2013 to 2018, dismissed charges against the presently outlawed Islamist group Popular Front of India. PFI was only outlawed and its leaders were only detained after the BJP took control of the state, he claimed.
Mandya contains seven assembly seats, six of which are held by the JD(S) and one, which the BJP gained in a by-election.
“JD(S)-Congress has received numerous opportunities, which have alternated. Lotus will bloom in Mandya and Mysuru this time. We’ll prevail by a wide margin,” said he.
He also spoke to a sizable crowd of people in the Vokkaliga community’s home region. The Vokkaligas make up at least 15% of Karnataka’s population and are the second-largest vote-bank in the state, behind the Lingayats. They control the area of Old Mysuru, which the BJP has yet to capture.
Mandya, Mysuru, Hassan, Tumakuru, Chamarajanagar, Bengaluru Rural, Kolar, and Chikkaballapur are just a few of the districts that make up the region.
Mr. Shah had a meeting with Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji, the Adichunchanagiri Math’s supreme pontiff. The Vokkaliga community, in particular, holds high admiration for the powerful Math in the old Mysuru region.
Amit Shah attacked both opponents, claiming that if either party won the state, it would become “Delhi’s ATM” for Delhi and a “family ATM” for JD(S).
The development of the Kedernath, Badrinath, and Kashi Vishwanath temples, as well as the opening of the Ayodhya Ram temple in 2024, were Mr. Shah’s other two main points of contention when addressing the gathering gathered in Mandya for the BJP’s Sankalpa Yatra.
