Attack by BJP supporters on CPI(M) rally in Tripura results in one Death and 12 injuries.
Agartala: According to the opposition Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) in Tripura, a BJP supporter attack on Wednesday in the Sepahijala district resulted in the deaths of one CPI-M staff member and the injuries of 12 others, including former finance minister Bhanu Lal Saha. The opposition social gathering was allegedly seeking to cause disturbances in the Charilam area, and when its supporters attempted to stop it, a fight ensued, according to the BJP, which refuted the accusation. The police quickly brought the situation under control, according to Vishal garh Sub-Divisional Justice of the Peace (SDM) BB Das, but the specific number of casualties was still unknown.
A large group of CPI(M) supporters gathered at the party office in Charilam to present the Block Development Officer (BDO) with a number of requests, according to former minister Bhanu Lal Saha. He claimed that at around 1.30 pm, our chief was delivering a speech to a crowd outside the party office before making his way to the BDO office. A group of criminals supported by the BJP immediately threw a bomb at the event. They started hitting us with sticks and iron rods when our social gathering personnel got to work.
One of our leaders, Shahid Miyan, a resident of Arlia who was hurt in this attack, allegedly passed away while receiving treatment at Govind Ballabh Pant (GBP) Hospital, according to Bhanu Lal Saha. Between 12 and 15 of our party’s followers were hurt during the attack. The SDM also indicated that he had asked the police for a report at the same time. Badal Chandra Das, the in-charge of the Vishalgarh police station, reported that a negative occurrence occurred in Charilam and a few people were hurt, but I am unable to formally confirm whether or not anyone has died. The nearest medical centre has admitted the injured.
Tripura violence case: DGP stated that action under the UAPA on social media posts would only be initiated if there was evidence that Bhanu Lal Saha was responsible for the violence.
At the same time, Bhanu Lal Saha was blamed for the violence that occurred prior to the meeting elections, according to Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma. The injured social gathering crew was seen by CPI(M) state secretary Jitendra Chowdhary at GBP Hospital. He said that BJP “goons” attacked members of our staff and supporters while the police were present. The current episode is nothing more than a live illustration of what Tripura is doing in the name of “good governance.”
