Dipke vows protests until Pradhan resigns, agitation continues

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Sunday intensified his demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in major examinations, asserting that the movement launched by his party would continue until accountability is fixed.

Speaking at a press conference in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar a day after leading a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, Dipke said Prime Minister Narendra Modi must ensure that responsibility is taken for the alleged lapses surrounding examinations such as NEET and the CBSE Online Submission Management (OSM) issues.

Dipke, who returned to his residence in the MIDC Waluj area on Sunday morning, received a warm welcome from family members and supporters. Later, while addressing the media, he said the protest campaign launched by the Cockroach Janta Party was far from over and would expand across the country in the coming weeks.

“The agitation will not stop until Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. Someone must take responsibility for the examination-related failures that have affected lakhs of students and their families,” Dipke said.

The CJP leader argued that the issue extends beyond a single examination controversy and reflects broader concerns about the state of education and employment in the country. According to him, the youth are increasingly frustrated due to recurring problems in recruitment processes, examination systems and job opportunities.

Dipke said that once his demand for Pradhan’s resignation is fulfilled, the next phase of the movement would focus on proposing reforms in India’s education system.

“This will not end with one resignation. Employment remains one of the biggest concerns facing young people today. After Dharmendra Pradhan steps down, we will prepare a detailed agenda aimed at bringing meaningful changes to the education system,” he said.

During the interaction, Dipke also criticised what he described as the dominant political discourse of the last decade. He alleged that public debate has largely revolved around Hindu-Muslim issues while critical concerns such as education, employment and youth welfare have not received adequate attention.

He called for a shift in priorities and urged political leaders to focus more on issues directly affecting students and job seekers. According to him, the future of millions of young Indians depends on the credibility and fairness of educational institutions and recruitment systems.

When asked why Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not directly targeted during the recent protest at Jantar Mantar, Dipke clarified that the responsibility ultimately lies with the country’s top leadership if accountability is not being fixed.

“If accountability for these examination lapses is not being established, then it becomes the responsibility of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to seek the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan,” he said.

In one of the strongest remarks made during the press conference, Dipke questioned why decisive action could not be taken against paper leaks and examination irregularities.

“If Modi can stop the war between Russia and Ukraine, can’t he stop the paper leak?” Dipke asked, drawing a comparison that quickly attracted attention among attendees.

The activist claimed that the successful turnout at the Jantar Mantar demonstration reflected growing frustration among the younger generation. He said the participation of thousands of people showed that Gen Z was willing to speak up and challenge issues affecting their future.

“The protest at Jantar Mantar was successful. Around 6,000 to 7,000 people participated. It proved that the younger generation is not afraid to raise its voice against injustice. This movement will now expand nationwide,” he said.

Dipke added that the Cockroach Janta Party is currently preparing a roadmap for future demonstrations and awareness campaigns in different states. The objective, he said, is to create pressure for reforms and ensure that concerns of students remain at the centre of public discussion.

Meanwhile, local police officials confirmed that security around Dipke’s residence has been strengthened following the recent developments. According to an officer from MIDC Waluj police station, the number of personnel deployed for his security has been increased.

“We have increased security at his residence from today. Earlier, 11 security personnel were deployed, and now the number has been raised to 15. The personnel are from the local police station as well as the city police headquarters,” the official said.

Reiterating his central demand, Dipke said that someone must take responsibility for the alleged NEET paper leak and other examination-related controversies. He argued that institutions cannot function effectively if no individual or authority is held accountable for failures.

“How can a system work efficiently when nobody is taking responsibility?” he asked.

Concluding his remarks, Dipke expressed concern about the future of young people in the country. He claimed that many youths are facing uncertainty because of limited employment opportunities and repeated problems in examination processes. According to him, addressing these concerns should become a national priority, and the movement launched by his party will continue until meaningful action is taken.
