Human trafficking of Women is happening on a large scale in India
Who does not want money by going abroad but at what cost? According to a report, between January 2017 and November 2022, more than 103 million Indians traveled abroad. Of them, 3.8 crores took up residency, the remaining 2.4 crores were tourists and 1.6 crores went on tour. Travel agents are needed to send so many people abroad, and all the problems start from here.
Rajya Sabha member Vikramajit Sahani posted a video on Twitter a few days ago, in which some women who had returned from Oman had their objections. In which it was shown how the travel agent cheated them.
What do travel agents do with them?
People are charged more than 10 lakhs to go to Western countries, which few people can afford, but to go to Gulf countries like Oman, Dubai, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, it takes 1 to 2 lakh rupees, Now these travel agents target boys and girls from small villages where they are lured that they will get good jobs in these Gulf countries and their life will be better there than here, but it does not happen.
As soon as they go there, first, their passport and mobile are taken and later they are made to do bonded labor, where they have to work for 15 to 16 hours a day and also get less paid for work. This problem is so big that every year about 1 lakh people fall prey to it. The condition of women becomes even worse. Here we will give the example of two girls who have just returned from Oman.
1. Amritpal Kor – Amritpal Kor is sent to Omen by one of his known travel agents with an amount of 2 lakhs in the hope that he will get some type of job there but he is sent to such a woman, he will get sold her in 10 days. Somehow, she survives and goes to the Indian Embassy in Oman, Kor tells how she was tortured for 10 days where she was beaten up. His passport and some money were also taken away from him
2. Reena Kor (fictitious name), Reena goes to Oman 5 months ago with the help of an agent for the better future of her children, where she is sent to Oman after taking 1.50 lakh rupees and promising a job of 25 thousand rupees along with her. The same thing happened with Amrit Kor, Reena was thrashed every day, and several times she was burnt with boiling water, she was brought back to India with the help of the Indian Embassy, these two women are not very educated and got caught in the trap of these people.
As per the Indian embassy, 1100 people are still waiting to go back to India and 13 women are staying in the Indian embassy shelter home. They all are victims.
We do not say that all travel agents are wrong, but there are some people who do such work, and even the government is not able to stop them because their connections are very big, although the government has made strict laws, it does not stop them. Getting
