INDIA WITH 62,000+ ACTIVE CASES

No! COVID-19 didn’t leave India yet! Here are updates about COVID in India.

24 hours of continuous COVID-19 testing revealed 10,542 fresh active cases; the last 24hrs also reported 38 fatalities due to the pandemic’s cause according to the information revealed by the Union Health Ministry.

A total of 92,46,17,164 samples are tested to date. The testing in the past 24 hours gave 10,000+ new cases. With the added 10,542 freshly diagnosed cases, India is now with 62,562 active cases which set the total number of covid cases in India to date since the start of the pandemic, at 4,48,45,401.

Around 8,125 people recovered from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, which raised the total recovery number to 4,42,50,649 making the recovery rate stand at 98.67%. 98.67% recovery rate does look like we are recovering from the pandemic but the total fatalities in the past 24 hours are 38 which increased the total death toll to 5,31,190. Out of the 38 deaths in the 24 hours, 11 are from just Kerala.

The government is working towards making India corona free by vaccinating as many as possible. Today, 603 (ATM) successful vaccinations are done till now which adds up to 2,20,66,27,758 – the total number of vaccinations to date.

After the third wave of COVID, India did better for a few days or months probably but now we see a sudden surge in the cases. This surge is said to be driven by the birth of a new covid-19 variant – XBB.1.16. XBB.1.16 which is a new mutant of covid-19 is far more evolved and spreads faster.

Though the spread rate is higher than before, XBB.1.16 is said to have a high recovery rate and also not much harmful. The new variant has some common symptoms like cold, cough, stuffed nose, headache, muscle pains, and some upper respiratory problems. If found any mild symptoms, get a check-up done; if diagnosed with the new variant, isolate yourself and take medications – self-isolation and home treatment will cure if they are mild.

Just because the new variant is easily curable doesn’t mean it is not dangerous; it is still advised that you follow all the required safety measures. Wear your masks and stay alert in public places. Get vaccinated with all two doses and a booster dose if possible.

It is advised by medical experts that pills or any kind of medication without a doctor’s prescription should be avoided and rather get vaccinated. Vaccines will do a major role in protecting you from COVID and they are far better than unprescribed medicines.

The government is starting to bring back the covid-19 protocols and make them mandatory. It is already made mandatory for all employees in indoor public areas like supermarkets, parlors, salons, restaurants, — etc to wear a mask.
