Prajwal Revanna asserts innocence, refuses Bengaluru probe; CM seeks passport cancellation.

Siddaramaiah, former Chief Minister of Karnataka, has urged the Ministries of External Affairs and Home Affairs to take swift action regarding the diplomatic passport of Prajwal Revanna. Revanna, a prominent political figure and member of the Janata Dal (Secular) party, has come under scrutiny recently.

The call for action stems from allegations and controversies surrounding Revanna’s activities. Siddaramaiah emphasizes the urgency of the situation, urging authorities to swiftly cancel Revanna’s diplomatic passport.

The diplomatic passport holds significant privileges and is typically issued to individuals representing the government on official international missions. However, misuse or misconduct associated with the diplomatic passport can lead to severe repercussions.

Siddaramaiah’s plea underscores the seriousness of the situation and the need for immediate intervention. Revanna’s alleged involvement in activities warranting such action has prompted Siddaramaiah to take a stand.

Cancellation of a diplomatic passport is not a trivial matter. It requires careful consideration and investigation to ensure that proper protocols are followed. However, Siddaramaiah’s appeal reflects the urgency of the situation and the importance of upholding integrity and accountability within the political sphere.

The move to cancel Revanna’s diplomatic passport signifies a firm stance against any perceived wrongdoing and serves as a deterrent against future misconduct. It also sends a clear message that individuals in positions of authority are not above the law and will be held accountable for their actions.

As the issue gains traction in the political arena, the Ministries of External Affairs and Home Affairs are expected to address Siddaramaiah’s appeal with due diligence. The decision to cancel Revanna’s diplomatic passport will have far-reaching implications, not only for him but also for the broader political landscape.

In the midst of allegations and controversies, the call for action underscores the importance of transparency and accountability in governance. Siddaramaiah’s plea represents a concerted effort to uphold the principles of justice and integrity, ensuring that individuals entrusted with power are held to the highest standards of conduct.

Suspended JD(S) leader and Hassan MP, Prajwal Revanna, has broken his silence amidst the alleged sex scandal, asserting that the truth will soon come to light. In a statement shared via his advocate with the CID Bengaluru, he expressed his absence from Bangalore for the ongoing inquiry. Notably, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) seized the phone of Prajwal’s former driver, Karthik, for data retrieval related to the scandal’s ‘obscene videos.’

Earlier, Karthik claimed to have provided the video clips to Karnataka BJP leader and lawyer, Devaraje Gowda. Despite this, the BJP leadership refuted receiving any such communication. The SIT issued a notice to Prajwal and his father, HD Revanna, demanding their appearance within 24 hours for investigation. Both have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code pertaining to sexual abuse and harassment.

Prajwal’s lawyer, Arun, informed that the MP requires seven days to cooperate with the investigation. He clarified that notices under the CrPC’s section 41A were delivered to their residences. Arun reiterated Prajwal’s denial of the authenticity of the videos, stating they are morphed. He further disclosed that Prajwal had anticipated such incidents a year ago and initiated legal action.

Meanwhile, the JD(S) suspended Prajwal pending the SIT’s probe completion. Prajwal, the BJP-JD(S) candidate for the Hassan Lok Sabha constituency, allegedly left the country on April 27 using his diplomatic passport. Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah wrote to PM Modi, urging prompt action, including the cancellation of Prajwal’s diplomatic passport and his swift return for legal proceedings.

On the other hand, Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized the Congress government, accusing them of letting Prajwal flee the state. He emphasized BJP’s stand against violence towards women. BJP candidate Pralhad Joshi opined that the scandal wouldn’t impact the party’s election prospects.

Amid escalating tensions and political maneuvering, the scandal involving Prajwal Revanna continues to dominate headlines. As investigations proceed and political parties exchange accusations, the focus remains on ensuring justice for the victims and upholding the rule of law. Only time will reveal the full extent of the scandal’s implications and its impact on Karnataka’s political landscape.

Karnataka’s Deputy CM DK Shivakumar urged JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy and BJP representatives to visit the victims of the sex abuse case involving Prajwal Revanna, emphasizing the importance of expressing solidarity with the affected women. Shivakumar had earlier called for clarity from the NDA regarding Prajwal’s affiliation with them.

He also directed questions at Karnataka BJP Chief BY Vijayendra, stressing that the allegations of sexual assault cannot be ignored. Moreover, he criticized reports suggesting the Women’s Commission’s actions aimed at tarnishing the BJP’s image, urging Vijayendra and others to respond.

Previously, Congress General Secretary had taken to social media, demanding a response from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Her post highlighted the severity of the allegations against Prajwal and questioned Modi’s silence on the matter, urging him to address the concerns raised by the victims and their supporters.
