President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Hyderabad on Monday to begin a five-day winter vacation.

She took a chopper from Shamshabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport to Srisailam in Andhra Pradesh.

She will go back to Hyderabad in the evening and arrive at Rashtrapati Nilayam in Secunderabad for a stay until December 30 after visiting the Srisailam temple and taking part in other activities.

Droupadi Murmu is making her maiden trip to Telangana since being elected to the top position in July.

The telangana minister for tribal welfare Satyavati Rathore, the union minister for tourism and culture G. Kishan Reddy, the Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, and other top officials met the President at the airport.

Later, she took a helicopter to Srisailam. Separate helicopters carried the Governor and minister Kishan Reddy as they departed for Srisailam.

The President will go to the Srisailam Temple to officially launch projects under the PRASHAD programme of the Union Ministry of Tourism. Before heading back to Hyderabad, she would also visit Sri Shivaji Spoorthy Kendram in Srisailam.

On Tuesday, President Murmu will meet the faculty and students at the Keshav Memorial Educational Society in Hyderabad. She would speak to the Indian Police Service’s officer trainees at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy on the same day (74thARR Batch). Additionally, she will open Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited’s (MIDHANI) Wide Plate Mill in Hyderabad.

The President will lay the cornerstone for the construction of a tourism infrastructure at the Bhadrachalam Temple under the PRASHAD programme the next day at Sri Seetharama Chandra Swamyvari Devasthanam in Bhadrachalam. She will also officially open the Vanvasi Kalyan Parishad-Sammakka Telangana’s Saralamma Janjati Pujari Sammelan and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs’ Eklavya Model Residential Schools in Telangana’s Komaram Bheem Asifabad and Mahabubabad districts.

The same day, she will visit the Ramappa Temple in the Warangal district and lay the cornerstones for the construction of a tourism infrastructure there as well as the restoration of the Kameshwaralaya temple.

On December 29, the President will meet with the students and staff at Hyderabad’s Suman Junior College of Mahila Dakshata Samithi, BM Malani Nursing College, and G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Science (for Women). She would go to the Statue of Equality at Sriramnagaram, Shamshabad, on the same day.

On December 30, President Murmu will host dignitaries for lunch at Rashtrapati Nilayam before departing for Delhi.
