Describing her character, the report mentions Sister Francesca as “strong, intelligent, and alluring,” leaving a lasting impact wherever she goes. Once a great love interest of the Emperor, her return to the palace is said to disrupt the balance of power in the capital.

The series, initially commissioned in 2019 under the title ‘Dune: The Sisterhood’, draws inspiration from the novel ‘Sisterhood of Dune’ authored by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. Set within the expansive universe of ‘Dune’ created by Frank Herbert, the series is positioned 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides. It follows two Harkonnen sisters as they confront threats endangering the future of humanity while establishing the revered sect known as the Bene Gesserit.

Co-produced by Max and Legendary Television, the series is part of the legendary film franchise. However, the release date remains undisclosed.

This venture into western cinema isn’t Tabu’s first. She ventured into Hollywood in 2006 with ‘The Namesake’, directed by Mira Nair and co-starring Irrfan Khan. The film garnered widespread acclaim from critics worldwide. Her subsequent Hollywood project, ‘Life of Pi’ (2012), directed by Ang Lee, earned four Oscars, including Best Director.

Meanwhile, in Bollywood, Tabu is set to reunite with Ajay Devgn in the film ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum’. Tabu and Ajay have shared the screen in several successful films including ‘Vijaypath’, ‘Haqeeqat’, ‘Thakshak’, ‘Fitoor’, ‘Drishyam’, ‘Golmaal Again’, ‘De De Pyaar De’, ‘Drishyam 2’, and ‘Bholaa’. Their upcoming collaboration is slated for release in July this year.
