TIMES100 MOST INFLUENTIAL LIST RELEASED 2 INDIANS ON IT
The annual listicle published by the Times magazine is the – Times100 ‘Most Influential People’. The list has names of the 100 most influential people of the year; 100 people who changed something in the world regardless of the change being good or bad.
The Time 100 alumni and the magazine’s global writing staff submit their recommendations for the individuals that end up making it into the magazine’s final list. The recommendations are then solely picked by the Time editors. The public can vote for only one candidate in candidate in the reader’s poll. Reader’s poll is conducted just a few days before the official list is made available to the public.
The Times 100 list was first published in 1999 and since then, being on that list is always considered an honor. This year also the list is released and India has two spots on its name this year. Two Indians and that too from the film industry made it to the list of 100 most influential people in 2023.
Shah Rukh Khan from Bollywood and SS Rajamouli from Tollywood are the two Indians on this year’s most influential people list. Both of these industry stars made it to the headlines this year.
Shah Rukh Khan
Shah Rukh’s recent comeback into the industry after a long gap with Pathaan, was a bomb and its success reverberated through the walls of every theatre and broke all the box office records.
For Times 100, Deepika wrote about Shah Rukh and expressed how special the actor is. In her note, Deepika remembered her first time meeting the star and how it changed her life. And mentioned how special their relationship is, that it is a beautiful bond of love, care, and respect for each other.
Her words read, he “will forever be known as one of the greatest actors of all time.” And highlighted the actor’s generous nature, his mind, and his chivalry as his unique traits. She ended her note by saying that 150 words are not enough to write about him for the way she had known him.
S S Rajamouli
Rajamouli has always been and will always be an influential director in the Telugu Film Industry. But this time his industry hit reached global levels; with RRR he bagged a PAN India hit and with RRR’s Naatu Naatu he brought an Oscar to India. With all this news focusing on him, he sure made numerous appearances in the headlines.
Alia Bhatt who worked with him in the global blockbuster RRR took the privilege of writing for him on the Times 100. Alia remembered Baahubali 2’s preview where she met the director for the first time and fell in love with his direction.
And recalling her times on the sets of RRR, Alia shared her experience. She called her experience “going back to school”, and called him a “master storyteller”.
And this is the story of two Indians who brought India global recognition. Congratulations to the two on the achievement. Leave your precious thoughts on this, in the comments.
