In Jharkhand’s Sahebganj district, a tribal woman was killed and her body was chopped into more than 50 pieces. Police have detained the victim’s husband and recovered 18 body parts so far.
Even as the country grapples with the heinous murder of Shraddha Walkar, who was strangled and chopped into 35 pieces by her live-in partner Aaftab Ameen Poonawala, a similar case in Jharkhand has emerged with uncanny similarities.
A man was arrested in Jharkhand’s Sahebganj under the Borio police station limits for allegedly chopping his wife’s body into 50 pieces. So far, police have recovered 18 pieces of the body.
The accused and the victim, who recently married, had been living together for the past two years. According to police, after killing the woman, the accused went to the police station to file a missing person’s report in order to avoid arrest.
According to police, the mutilated body of a woman was discovered Saturday evening at 6:00 p.m. in an old house in the Santhali Momin Tola area. According to preliminary findings, the accused enticed the woman with false promises of marriage.
Rubika Pahadin, the victim, was allegedly murdered by her husband, Dildar Ansari. The incident was brought to light when the woman’s family approached the police to file a missing person report, and during the course of the investigation, police discovered Rubika’s dismembered body.

Police were called in after a human leg and other body parts were discovered behind the Borio Santhali village’s under-construction Anganwadi centre. After receiving the information, SP Anuranjan Kispotta and other police officers arrived at the crime scene on Saturday night, and sniffer dogs were also deployed. To maintain law and order, heavy security has been deployed in the area, as have a large number of police officers.
According to the Sahebganj SP, “In Sahibganj, 12 body parts of a 22-year-old woman from a primitive tribal community were discovered. Some body parts are still missing, and the search for them is ongoing. Dildar Ansari, her husband, has been arrested. His deceased wife was his second wife.” (sic)
