Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk Plan Massive U.S. Government Job Cuts
Vivek Ramaswamy, the entrepreneur-turned-politician, has outlined a bold plan to significantly reduce the size of the U.S. federal government. Ramaswamy, alongside Tesla CEO Elon Musk, is tasked with overseeing the newly-formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). At a recent campaign event in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, Ramaswamy discussed his vision to target unelected federal bureaucrats in Washington, D.C., and drastically cut government jobs.
He emphasized the need to shrink the federal workforce, which he criticized as bloated and inefficient, holding power without accountability.
Ramaswamy likened Musk’s approach to bureaucracy to using a “chainsaw” instead of a “chisel,” signaling a tough and impactful reform process.
Addressing concerns about America’s decline, Ramaswamy expressed optimism about the country’s future, rejecting the idea that the U.S. is in irreversible decline. “We’re back to being a nation in our ascent,” he said, calling for a resurgence of American values rooted in merit, hard work, and freedom.
Ramaswamy and Musk also promised regular updates to the public through weekly live streams, or “Dogecasts,” to ensure transparency in the reform process.
This push for government efficiency has sparked debate, with supporters backing a leaner government, while critics question the feasibility of such sweeping changes.
