Pathaan: “It Was Actually Freezing,” Deepika Padukone Discloses A Besharam Rang Secret
Deepika Padukone discusses Besharam Rang’s “very challenging” filming process in Pathaan.
With their song Besharam Rang from the movie Pathaan, Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan raised the temperature, in part thanks to the magic of filmmaking. In a Pathaan promotional video, Deepika admits that the song was difficult to film because the sun-drenched beach party atmosphere it portrays doesn’t accurately reflect the actual weather on site. Besharam Rang, which has generated some controversy due to Deepika’s attire, was shot in Spain and looks as exotic as it sounds with Deepika dancing at a beach party while decked out in a variety of bikinis. The actress admits that it was indeed “cold and terribly windy.”
Speaking in the YRF video, Deepika Padukone states, “Although the song appears to be bright, sunny, and summery, the area we were shooting at was really chilly and extremely windy, making for extremely challenging working circumstances. It was challenging to make everything appear that it was lovely and sunny.”
Deepika plays an agent in the movie Pathaan who partners up with Shah Rukh Khan, who plays the title character, to take down terrorist leader Jim, who is portrayed by John Abraham. Her persona is a “complete femme fatale” who “transforms into a spy with a licence to murder,” according to the description from Yash Raj Films.
Deepika Padukone’s orange bikini in the song has, perhaps inevitably, drawn objections and criticism, with the Censor Board recommending a modification in the finished product.
