Rocket Boys season 2 Releases This Weekend in OTT
Rocket boys directed by Abhay Pannu is an Indian series in the Hindi language, exclusively streaming on the Sony LIV platform under the biography genre.
This extraordinary drama is about the life of two physicists, Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha and Dr. Vikram Ambalal Sarabha, who desired to make India strong and independent in terms of nuclear science. The Rocket Boys series is of two seasons, one was released on Feb 4, 2022, and its sequel hit the OTT platform on March 16, 2023. Overall, the series consists of two seasons with 8 episodes each.
Diving into the storyline of this series we see how dedicated Abhay Koranne is, the first season manifests independent India’s work and progress in achieving heights and the two physicists contribution to it.
It portrays India’s journey of becoming a strong country, after 200 years of British rule, through the three crucial decades (1940-60).
The second season of Rocket Boys created by Nikkhil Advani just happens to be on the screens, while the story still revolves around the two scientists, this season critically exhibits the contributions and beliefs of the two masterminds.
In this season we see the two use their potential in reconstructing India into a nuclear power and their ideas of making India stronger to withstand the war threats The story of these two extremely talented men inspires the young blood in using skills for the betterment of the motherland.
In this series, we see stars Jim Sarbh, ishwak Singh and Regina Cassandra in the lead roles . As the story revolves around the Indian history of science, we also see the interaction of these two physicists with elites like Dr. A. RJ. Abdul Kalam and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
To add more drama and spice to the story we see a fictional character Raza Mehndi created to be the antagonist. Raza Mehndi’s character was flawlessly given life by Dibyendu Bhattacharya and every time he appears on screen, we see his amazing skills of action.
We all know the milestone discoveries and inventions of nuclear science, but “how they were achieved is what drags people’s curiosity. The drama also goes deep into the marriage life of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai with Mrs. Mrinalini Sarabhai, which seems to have taken down the pace of the drama.
We get to see the despair of Mrinalini Sarabhai and her emotional crisis which she conveys through silence and Regina Cassandra’s action absolutely makes the audience feel every bit of emotion that the character is dealing with. Arjun Radhakrishnan as DR. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam had a greater screentime in this season when compared to its successor.
The stars seem to be in the same flow as in the first season and it’s all thanks to the director Abhay Pannu who laid out the masterplan for both seasons beforehand and thus filmed most of the scenes of season 2 during the shoot of season 1. The show’s current IMDb rating is currently at 8.9/10. Rocket Boys season 1 won many awards in the Filmfare OTT awards now let us count on season 2 for more to come.
