YOGURT ATTACK FOR NOT WEARING HIJAB @IRAN
Hijab has been the topic of discussion or more like the topic of debate for many years in Iran. Iranian women’s protest against the Iranian government about the mandatory Hijab rule saw no light or hope to date, yet the girls and the women of Iran didn’t give up.
In fact, the plight of the protestors is getting worse day by day as the Iranian government is viewing them as criminals and anti-Nationals. A new incident was reported in Iran on Thursday, and that shows how those multiple protests didn’t move a single stone of the Iranian rule and its policies.
A video went viral recently and shows a man allegedly attacking two women in a store “for not wearing hijab”. The CCTV footage of the store shows two women entering a store followed by a man, the man was seen questioning the two after which he takes a tub of yogurt from beside and hit it on the two women’s heads.
The accused was immediately shoved away from the store by the owner. This shows how effectively the mandatory hijab rule has stuck in the brains of some Iranians, that they don’t think before choosing violence against the one’s that go against the rule.
This incident took place in a store in the Northeastern city of Shandiz. Shortly after the incident got to the notice of the Iranian authorities, the two women were arrested for “committing a forbidden act”.
“The forbidden act” mentioned was, removing their headscarves. The man caught in the act was also arrested for “disturbing the order”, the store owner who stood up for the women was warned was given “necessary notice” by the government.
Arrested for not wearing hijab, beaten to death for not covering their hair, this has been the plight of Iranian women since 1983 when the Islamic Iranian government stated that any woman seen without a Hijab will be sentenced to whipping of up to 74 lashes.
The government of Iran stated that “Hijab is an unquestionable necessity” and the judiciary chief of Iran added that women without Hijab will be prosecuted without mercy.
Though in recent times the government faced the wrath of angry and freedom-hungry women after the death of Mahsa Amini in police custody for not wearing Hijab properly.
Around 20,000 protesters from all over Iran came together to fight for their freedom, it’s been 7 months since the death of Mahsa Amini, 7 months since the protest started, hundreds died and hundreds were arrested but nothing changed.
Let’s hope Iranians will soon see peace and freedom and continue to live their lives normally.
